National Dress Up Your Dog Day | Joey and Teddy

Instagram was full of fantastic doggy portraits this morning for National dress up your dog day - #nationaldressupyourdogday - and we did a quick impromptu couple of photos of Joey and Teddy. If you're a regular reader of Itty Bitty Fluffy blog you'll know that Joey doesn't mind wearing a scarf or even Christmas lights! He will pose away for a treat or two! Teddy is another story but we managed to snap him wearing a snood although he does look a little cross about it! Follow us on Intagram for more fun with me Joey and Teddy { here } ...

Just Joey - Joeys 2nd Birthday!

Last week we celebrated Joey's first birthday with us and his actual 2nd birthday. We got him a few token gifts - because we haven't had him very long, he has everything and he is pretty spoiled anyway too so he didn't need very much! We got him a nice new lead and collar, a 3 Peaks nylon frisbee toy, a lovely organic rice bone chew and yummy treats for the week!

Something we were super excited to give him was a scrumptious, pretty, Pupcake doggy cupcake! It was very kindly sent to us by the wonderful Alpha & Ruby's Dog Bakery ready for Joey's birthday - he loved it! Of course we couldn't resist marking the special occasion with a little celebration and photo shoot! Here are the pictures and what we did...

Alpha & Ruby's Dog Bakery sent us this pretty, scrumptious looking - yet healthy peanut butter flavour Pupcake for his birthday. Aren't they just utterly cute! We added a little white glittery number 2 candle and placed in on top of a pretty cake stand. We also decorated the table with more dog treats, blue balloons, hearts, doilies and Joey's first ever birthday card from us!

Above is a frame of photographs we have hung up at home with pictures of ourselves with Joey and our first few months together as a family. You can see that we all love to cuddle up!

Just Joey - Getting a Little Brother!

We are so excited to officially announce that we are welcoming a new dog into our home and little family today! Joey is delighted - we have spent several visits, long walks and time playing to bond them first and they really enjoy each other - in fact we felt a little left out! We will of course tell you more about a latest addition soon accompanied of course by some pictures! Until then we'll leave you with some pictures of the cute little collection of things awaiting his arrival...

We already have all the doggy essentials so just needed to add a few pieces ready for the new dog:

> A cute little heart shaped dog bowl to match his brother Joey's

> A Buttons & Bear puppy dumbbell squeaky toy

> A comfy, snuggley bed

> A leash - he already has a collar

> Organic Rice chews in a bone shape for each of them

We love the cute Buttons & Bear range and it is actually really fitting as our new

dog is currently called Teddy! Buttons & Bear - Joey & Teddy!

Just Joey - The Sand Dunes

We spent our Easter Sunday at the beautiful Formby Point in the north west of England and you can see our earlier post about our time on the beach { here }. After enjoying ourselves immensely and Joey constantly getting in to the sea water, making friends with fellow fluffies and of course playing fetch, we had a picnic before heading off to one of the coastal paths in the surrounding area and through the stunning sand dunes.

Joey absolutely loves the sand dunes - bounding through them and over the tall grass like a little puppy! We took the Nicotine Path this time and highly recommend it for lovely scenery, beach views and somewhere peaceful. We'll let the pictures tell the story...

Just Joey - Our Beach Day

We spent our Easter Sunday at the beach and witnessed Joey's first ever swim! He didn't swim very far but it was such a proud moment and has taken a while to get him to 1) go in water and 2) learn how to fetch and retrieve. So now he is doing both!

We love to visit Formby Point which is a beautiful place owned and looked after by The National Trust. It always feels like a little holiday for us and Joey adores it there! This was Joey's 3rd trip to the beach at Formby Point.

It was a wonderfully sunny spring day and the three of us enjoyed ourselves immensely and it was a fantastic atmosphere with so many other families out with their dogs too! Joey of course made a few friends too! We will follow up with another post which captures our afternoon at the sand dunes too!

 Joey tries to bury his precious driftwood stick which he has been playing with for a few hours.

Even though the hole he made was pretty huge, he couldn't quite work out how to cover it up.
We tried to show him by scraping sand on to the wood for him but he would just dig it up and start all over again.

What a mucky pup Joey was after all his digging and attempts to bury his stick!
