Pet Session - Adorable Adoptable Kittens by Sarah Beth Photography

Please welcome Sarah Beth Photography as she share with us this beautiful session of a litter of cheeky little black kittens for PPR. Sarah does lots of work with PPR and is passionate about helping animals in need to find their happy new homes and forever families. Below she tells us more about this and of course about these cute little kittys who are in need of homes...

"Pet Project Rescue is one of my favorite local organizations. They're a foster-based rescue, dedicated to reducing the homeless pet population, both at home and in communities in Mexico. Working to curb the problem at its source, they fund countless spay / neuter clinics, many for low-income owners and those with "bully breeds," as well as TNR (trap / neuter / return) programs for feral cats. This litter of 5 black kittens is a great example of what PPR does, and represents several problems in the homeless pet world. Pregnant cats and their unwanted litters are often dropped off at animal control when their humans can't or don't want to care for them. Colonies of feral cats live all over the city, reproducing constantly and compounding the population. Black cats (and dogs) in particular are largely overlooked at shelters, with potential adopters opting for more colorful or "unique-looking" animals."

"Groups like Pet Project Rescue, with the resources to care for these animals and take steps to reduce the problems in general, are doing amazing work. These kittens don't live in steel cages, they were raised in a foster home with lots of toys and beds, socialized with other cats and handled daily by both adults and children. The foster knows each one individually, and can help match personalities with new owners, raising the odds of successful adoptions. This particular crew was a lot of fun to photograph; they're super playful and spunky, and I'm sure they'll find fantastic forever homes in no time!"

Pet Session - A Rustic Rural Farm by Happy Tails Pet Photography

As you may know we have a huge passion for dogs - but here on Itty Bitty & Fluffy blog, we share and celebrate stunning pet photography of different animals too! From dogs to cats, horses and now even a goat! We loved this session by Stacey of Happy Tails Pet Photography which captures a rustic rural farm and it's amazing owner and her precious animals - what a wonderful family they all make! We hand over to Stacey who tells us more about the session...

"This early morning session outside of Guelph, Ontario, included a horse, two ponies, a goat, four dogs, a handful of cats and chickens. The woman that runs this rural gem is quite remarkable. She’s an artist, a mother, and a grandmother, and she runs this farm essentially on her own with occasional help from generous neighbours and friends. She has a bad hip and she’s still up early turning out the horses and feeding the barn cats (she actually just had hip replacement surgery, so she's on bed rest for the next month or so). Most of the animals here were unwanted and she graciously took them in regardless of their condition or background, including Mickey, a very shy senior collie who had his tongue cut off by his previous owner for barking too much. She has adopted horses that were simply dropped off in her pastures."

"Bindi, the goat, has got to be one of the friendliest goats out there ... she followed me around the whole time, constantly nudging me and putting her nose in my ear. She is also very smiley! The "puppies" are Sarge and Patience ... they are Bernese-Great Pyrenees mixes. I use quotes because they are only nine months old, but are already huge! V'Lu (short for Voodoo) is a poodle and master of the house."

"This was a very peaceful and serene session and a really lovely way to spend a frosty April morning. I had free rein of the farm and grounds, and spent the morning walking around, visiting the animals and enjoying the fresh air. And, to top it off, I was tipped in fresh eggs!"

With Thanks to Stacey and everyone involved for sharing their session
with us and also their heartwarming story!

Pet Session - Penny & Chocolate Moose Images

It was wonderful to receive this submission from Jess, the photographer behind Chocolate Moose Images and we are delighted to share her pet photography session with Penny the Tuxedo Cat! It is great to be able the share more and more pet cat photography sessions and stories. Penny is actually a rescue cat { you know we love to share the positives of pet adoptions, rescues and fostering } and now we'll hand you over to Jess who will tell us more about their lovely session together...

"This is Penny! She is a 3.5 year old tuxedo cat who was found in a park back in November 2010. She went to the Feline Rescue/Cause for Paws and eventually made her way to Woody’s Pet Food Deli in St. Paul, MN where she lived while waiting for her forever home. It really didn’t take too long before Michelle and Enrique (the owners of the store) realized her forever home should be their home."

"The session was filled with treats, feathers and sunshine. It was a rather warm and sunny evening in June but I was thrilled that I was able to work with a cat outside, which is pretty rare. She has a pretty fantastic set up with a harness + leash that attaches to the door of the family’s house allowing her to wander or lie around in the sunshine as much as she would like. Penny is pretty mellow and a complete sweetie who LOVES treats. She's been known to even break into cabinets to get snacks!"

Pet Session - Simba, Zoe and Chase & Snap Pet Photography

We have our first ever Cat Photography Session to share today and it is brought to you by the fantastic Stephanie of Chase & Snap Pet Photography. Here's what Stephanie had to say about her session with super cute seniors, Simba and Zoe...

"I haven't photographed cats in a while now so I was glad to have the opportunity. Photographing cats are definitely different than photographing dogs. With dogs you can semi pose and direct them, have them sit or lie down. With cats it's a whole other story, and they run the show. Luckily Simba was such a sweetheart. And Zoe loved to show off for the camera so I had to sneak in a shot of her as well."

Simba and Zoe's owner Maryann tells us about her beautiful pet cats' who as rescues have found their forever family and happy home with her...

"Simba is eighteen years old and is one of a litter of kittens born to a very pregnant six-month old cat rescued by a former boss. He's a Domestic Shorthair tabby and has lived with me since he was 10 weeks old and may be the sweetest cat on the planet. He is diabetic and receives an insulin shot twice a day, but he is always first in the kitchen at meal times. Now a senior gentleman, Simba likes to spend his days in his basket by the patio door, watching birds and squirrels in the yard. He loves people, dogs and other cats and especially enjoys visits from his friend Hanna, a West Highland Terrier."

"Zoe is also a Domestic Shorthair (I guess that's a catch-all term for "generic") and was rescued from the MCSPCA 12 years ago. She is a  Polydactyl cat, having six toes on each of her front paws. Zoe is my office "helper" and spends almost all of her time on my desk warming herself under the lamp. Periodically she will let me know it;s time for a break by reaching out and swatting me with one of her big mitts for a few minutes of head scratching."

"Simba and Zoe, along with kitty siblings Gracie, Emmy, Nico and
Carmine, graciously allow me to share their condo."

With Thanks to Stephanie of Chase & Snap Photography, Simba,
Zoe and Maryann for sharing their session with us!
