Looking Forward to Spring! | Joey and Teddy

Spring has arrived and with it nicer weather, ( well this is England so it's still not thrilling ) it's lighter for longer and of course the countryside is beginning to bloom! I love Spring and find that this is the season Joey, Teddy, James and I explore the most - and take the most photos too!

This Spring we are looking forward to:
- A trip to Wales, to play on the beach and have a bbq with my parents who will be hollidaying there.
- Camping together! We have only taken Joey and Teddy camping once so far, it rained and felt pretty difficult. So, we are looking forward to a dry and sunny camping trip or two in Spring when work allows.
- Visiting the beautiful Lake District!
- Taking some Easter photos of Joey and Teddy - watch this space!
- Time spent in the garden and being able to sit out for dinner and weekends etc - bliss!
- Shooting 'Springtime' for our 2014 memory book.

What are you up to this Spring?!

Here's handsome Joey enjoying some shade and having a break on a big walk last year:

Whoever said Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend, Didn't Have a Dog | Joey and Teddy

Joey is my best friend, faithful companion and furbaby. I don't write or say these words lightly, I mean them with all of my heart. We adopted Joey two years ago now, and the changes he has made to my life are immense, not to mention the changes we have made to his. Once a very nervous dog, scared if you got a pan out of the cupboard to cook - he would run away to hide or for a long time he wouldn't even step into the garden on his own. He had so many quirks and issues but has come so far to be a very happy dog indeed ( even when he little brother Teddy is terrorising him! )

I often call him my sunshine, firstly because he really is, and secondly, he loves sunshine - as do I! It's a common love we share and enjoy together! These days, Joey will take himself off into the garden for a lay out in the sunshine and I will look at him and feel so proud for how far he has come and what an achievement this little act is. I'm of course proud that we did that for him too. It took time, tears, patience and understanding, but the result is the beautiful friendship and life we share together.

Pet Session & Rescue Story - Fetchlight Lifestyle Pet Photography

Today we have a lovely session by Jen Bergen of Fetchlight Lifestyle Pet Photography with Milly, a super cute rescue dog! Here's what Jen had to tell us about Milly and their session together - "Milly is quite well-known around the island town of Coronado, California. She is a Black Lab / Border Collie / Pittie mix rescue dog with a heart of gold, who accompanies her graphic designer mom around to meetings at all the local shops and restaurants throughout the day. Her mom says Milly likes to welcome and say hello to everyone they meet! She's very curious and excited to explore new locations, which made for a fun, energetic shoot!"

Milly's doggy Mother Kayt, kindly told us more about Milly and her rescue story too...

"Milly is a very special pup. We are lucky to have her in our lives. She and her siblings were found on the streets of LA at only 7 weeks old and brought to a high kill city shelter where their future looked grim. They were thankfully rescued just in the nick of time by an awesome local rescue organization, Labradors and Friends Dog Rescue, who took them into their care, smothered them with love and took all the necessary steps to ensure the pups were placed in healthy happy homes."

"From when we met and adopted her at 2 months old, Milly has had a very special ability to help other people and spread happiness and joy. Growing up on a busy main street with plenty of dogs and tourists to meet daily, she loves saying hi to anyone she can. She can breeze through a crowd with a unique ability to sense someone in need of a little extra love from a K-9 companion, whether it be due to a recent loss or aching heart of missing their dogs at home while they travel. It isn't uncommon for her to bring some people to tears, as if she truly touched their heart when they needed it the most."

"When she isn't cruising the Avenue, saying hi to all her friends, old and new... you can find her at the dog beach or the park running like a lighting bolt full of energy. Her sweet and soulfull disposition allows her to connect to many people and animals and be a proud advocate and representative for "pound puppy" mixes (especially pit bull mixes) that are often mistreated and mislabeled. We hope to have her be an official therapy dog, so we can spread/utilize her special gift to more people in need too."

Pet Session - Alison, Lily & Jasper by Willow & Co. Photography

We are honored to introduce you to a fantastic photography duo who are new to Itty Bitty & Fluffy - Grace and Tim of Willow & Co. We fell head-over-heels in love with Willow & Co's lifestyle photography and their beautiful session with animal lover Alison and her stunning dogs Lily & Jasper. It was a great surprise to find that Lily is actually Labrador and Staffordshire mix { a Staffador } like our own dog Joey!

"Jasper (Labrador mix) and Lily (Lab x Staffy). I know they're practically identical but if you look closely Lily has more of a bull breed face and pointy Staffy ears. She was 6 yrs old at the time of their shoot and Jasper was 7. Jasper is a huuuuge mama's boy and loves his cuddles with Alison while Lily is more independent out of the two. Together they make an inseparable trio who just adore each other. Both dogs are adopted/rescued which is just a small reflection of Alison's love for animals as she's also a vet nurse."

"Their session took place on a very chilly afternoon in winter; from memory it was about 10°C (which in Australia is cold!). But the winter sun was beautiful and when the dogs ran through the grass, lots of tiny speck-sized insects flew up into the golden light and floated around like fairy dust. Combined with the love, laughter and slobbery licks between the three of them, it was pure magic. "

Pet Session - Socrates the Labradoodle & Allison Shamrell Photography

We are so excited to introduce you to a Pet Photographer Allison Shamrell Photography and her beautiful session with Scorates the Labradoodle. Set at the beach, enjoying the sun, sand and sea, - we wish we were there!

We hand over to Allison who tells us more about Socrates and their beautiful session together...

"I met Socrates and his parents at a beach just a couple of miles from their house. We spent an hour playing in the surf & sand - it was a great time! Socrates is an 8-year-old labradoodle, and simply loves to just be around his parents. He really is happiest when he's as close to them as possible - at one point during the session, he jumped right into his mom's lap! Socrates is an absolute sweetheart, and even has a bit of an "old soul" vibe, true to his name. Socrates was previously owned by his parents' family members, but when they realized they couldn't keep him anymore, his current parents couldn't bear to see him go to a shelter. They took Socrates in and he's been a wonderful part of the family ever since!"

With Thanks to Socrates & Allison Shamrell Photography for sharing
their wonderful session with us today!
